| About NZLLA and LIANZA
|
Until 2000, the New Zealand Law Librarians' Group (as it then was) operated as a Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (LIANZA). Following lengthy discussions among members, and a referendum, it was decided this structure was no longer appropriate for NZLLG. We had long operated independently and controlled our own finances, so felt that it was logical that we become a fully separate organisation. There was, however, a desire to maintain a close link with LIANZA, and so discussions took place between the two organisations to determine the nature of this relationship. In early 2001, the Presidents of NZLLG and LIANZA signed a memorandum of understanding setting out the structure of the relationship between the two organisations. The memorandum of understanding was reviewed and updated in September 2007. 3.7.10 HA |
